Explanation:

let the 2 consecutive integers be n and n + 1 , then

3(n + 1) = 5n - 7

3n + 3 = 5n - 7 ( subtract 3n from both sides )

3 = 2n - 7 ( add 7 to both sides )

10 = 2n ( divide both sides by 2 )

5 = n and n + 1 = 5 + 1 = 6

the 2 consecutive integers are 5 and 6
