How did mercantilism contribute to the American revolution?

It would be the monarch used it to control colonial wealth and power. The definition of mercantilism is basically the more wealth you had the more power you had. So in this case when the British the “mother country” had the 13 colonies, they used it to control every single one of the colonies such as controlling trade and they heavily taxed the colonies. As we learn that The British are land hungry this makes much more since because more money, more land and power to gain.
