Final answer:

By adding the initial and additional amounts of flour to get a total of 6.75 cups and then dividing this by the 2.25 cups required per batch, it's determined that the baker can make 3 batches of the recipe.

Step-by-step explanation:

The student asked how many batches of a recipe can be made with a certain amount of flour. To find the total amount of flour the baker has, we simply add together the amount she started with and the amount she added. We have:

2.125 cups + 4.625 cups = 6.75 cups of flour in total.

Since the recipe requires 2.25 cups of flour per batch, we can calculate the number of batches by dividing the total amount of flour by the amount required per batch:

6.75 cups รท 2.25 cups/batch = 3 batches.

The baker can make 3 batches of her recipe with 6.75 cups of flour.

3 Recipes

Step-by-step explanation:

STEP 1: Sum up the total amount of flour

2.125 + 4.625 = 6.750 cups of flour

STEP 2: Express your equation

Since 1 Recipe requires 2.250 cups of flour

Therefore,

1 Recipe = 2.250 Flour

X Recipe = 6.750 Flour

STEP 3: Cross multiply the equation

1*6.750 = X*2.250

6.750 = 2.250x

STEP 4: Divide both sides by the coefficient ( 2.250 )

6.750/2.250 = 2.250x/2.250

X = 6.750/2.250 = 3

X = 3 Recipes
