2(x-3) -8 <-4. How do I solve this

Answer:

x < 5

Explanation:

2 (x - 3 ) - 8 < - 4

Use distributive property.

2x - 6 - 8 < -4

Combine like terms.

2x - 14 < -4

Add 14 to both sides.

2x < 10

Divide by 2.

x < 5

Solving inequalities is just like solving equations. The one important thing to remember is to reverse the inequality symbol if you multiply or divide by a negative number (which we did NOT do here)
