Wood obtained from trees and compounds obtained from crude oil and natural gas can both be used as fuels. State two reasons why crude oil and natural gas are examples of fossil fuels but wood is not.​

Answer is

(1) Fossil fuels are formed from the accumulated remains of dead animals or vegetation that were buried millions of years ago. Wood is a live non-fossil product.

(2) Fossil fuels release carbon that was hidden away thousands of years ago.
Wood is a low-carbon fuel. The carbon released when trees are cut down and burned is taken up again when new trees grow in their place, limiting its impact on climate.
