Please help this is hard! Class A has 11 pupils and class B has 22 pupils.

Both classes sit the same maths test.

The mean score for class A is 39.

The mean score for class B is 76.

What is the mean score (rounded to 2 DP) in the maths test across both classes?

Answer:

63.67

Explanation:

The mean score is given by the formula (Total Score) /(Number of Students)

or

Total Score = (Mean Score) x (Number of students)

Class A Total Score = 39 x 11 = 429

Class B Total Score = 76 x 22 = 1672

Total score for both classes = 429+1672= 2101

Total number of students in both classes=11+22=33

Mean Score for both classes=2101/33 = 63.67
