Solution:

x=(11)/(7) \\

____________________________________________

Explanation:

1.) Expand 3(x + 5).

3x + 15

2.) Add similar elements.

4x + 3x = 7x

3.) Subtract 15 from both sides.

7x + 15 - 15 = 26 - 15

4.) Simplify.

7x = 11

5.) Divide both sides by 7.

(7x)/(7)=(11)/(7)

6.) Simplify.

x=(11)/(7)

Answer: x = 11/7

Step-by-step :

Remove brackets

4x + 3x + 15 = 26

Collect like terms

7x + 15 = 26

Move constant to other side of equation

7x = 26-15

7x = 11

Divide Both sides by 7 to get x on its own

X = 11/7
