Mrs Nepali is a School teacher. she should pay Re 1 as the social security tax for the annual income of Rs 100 if she pays Rs 3348 as the annual tax, find her annual income

Explanation:

she pays 1 out of 100 as tax.

that means she pays 1%.

she actually pays 3348 as tax, and the actual numbers still have to follow the standard ratio of tax/income = 1/100 or 1%.

so,

3348/income = 1/100

3348 = income/100

income = 3348 × 100 = 334,800

and if we had used the %, we would have gotten the answer more directly :

1% = 3348

100% = 1%×100 = 3348×100 = 334,800

both ways are technically the same calculation. they just look a little bit different due to the usage of the % symbolic.
