Answer:

297.75 metres

Explanation:

→ Convert the lengths into centimetres

43m and 75 cm = 43.75 158 m and 50 cm = 158.50

→ Add the decimal numbers together

43.75 + 158.50 = 202.25

→ Subtract from the original length

500 - 202.25 = 297.75
