Explanation:

$5x^2+23x=13x-10\\5x^2+23x-13x=13x-10-13x\\5x^2+10x=-10\\5x^2+10x=-5-5\\5x^2+10x+5=-5-5+5\\5x^2+10x+5=-5\\$

Divide both parts of the equation by 5:

$x^2+2x+1=-1\\(x+1)^2=-1$
