Is water, sand, salt and polymer a homogeneous or heterogeneous mixture?

Answer: Salt is soluble in water, which would give a homogeneous mixture. But, when we take sand, which is insoluble, we will have a mixture of two different phases, a solid and a liquid, therefore this is a heterogeneous mixture.

Think of the example of salt water. This is also called a "homogenous mixture." A mixture that is not a solution is not uniform throughout. Think of the example of sand in water. This is also called a "heterogeneous mixture."
