(3x - 15) and (2x + 7) are vertically opposite angles and are congruent, so

3x - 15 = 2x + 7 ( subtract 2x from both sides )

x - 15 = 7 ( add 15 to both sides )

x = 22

then

2x + 7 = 2(22) + 7 = 44 + 7 = 51

(y + 16) and (2x + 7) area linear pair and sum to 180° , that is

y + 16 + 51 = 180

y + 67 = 180 ( subtract 67 from both sides )

y = 113
