Answer:

8 units

Explanation:

A (- 7, 1 ) and C (1, 1 )

since the y- coordinates are equal, both 1 then the length of AC is the absolute difference of the x- coordinates , that is

AC = | 1 - (- 7 ) | = | 1 + 7 | = | 8 | = 8

or

AC = | - 7 - 1 | = | - 8 | = 8
