p=2, q=-1.2

Explanation:

Q1. Sub x=7, y=2 into eqn 5y = px-4:

5(2) = p(7)-4

7p-4 = 10

7p = 14

∴ p = 2

Q2. Sub x=-1, y=q, p=2 into eqn 5y = px-4:

5(q) = 2(-1) - 4

5q = -2 - 4

5q = -6

∴ q = -1.2
