One side of a triangle is 13 feet shorter than the second side. The third side is 1 feet longer than the second side. The

perimeter of a triangle is 45 feet. Find the length of each side.

Answer: Side One: 6 ft

Side Two: 19 ft

Side Three: 20 ft

Explanation:

o=side one. t=side two. h=side three. P=perimeter

o=t-13

h=t+1

P=o+h+t

45=t-13+t+1+t

45=t+t+t-13+1

45=3t-12

3t=57

t=19

o=t-13

o=19-13

o=6

h=19+1

h=20

Side One: 6 ft

Side Two: 19 ft

Side Three: 20 ft
