Answer is 18 hours worked

Step by step:

Equation y = mx + b

Our total income (y) is $1305
Our rate (m) is $35
Our y intercept (b) is $75 * 9 home visits
Our unknown hours worked is X

1305 = 35x + (75*9)

1305 = 35x + 675

Subtract 675 from both sides to isolate the variable

1305 - 675 = 35x + 675 - 675

$630 = 35x

Divide both sides by 35 to solve for x

630/35 = 35/35 x

18 = x hours worked

Check your work
Substitute your x value into the equation

1305 = 35x + (75*9)

1305 = 35*18 + (75*9)

1305 = 630 + 675

1305 = 1305

Problem solved!
