Answer: Many Dutch were not receptive to occupation by the Nazis. They felt badly for the Jews who were persecuted. Despite danger to their own lives, they helped Jews like the Frank family.

The Dutch citizens helped their Jewish friends, otherwise known as Anne Frank, and her family and friends because they were friends of Otto Frank which is Anne Franks's father. The Dutch friends helped because they knew that it wasn't right to let their friends be killed by German Nazis.
