A passenger train left a station traveling East at 70 mph. At the same time, a freight train left the same station traveling West at -60 mph. When the freight train is at –300 miles from the station, how far, in miles, is the passenger train from the station?

The time taken can be calculated using the formula -

t = d/v

According to question, we have ;

t = 420/ 70 = 6 hours

For passenger train,

The freight train moved for 6 hours. Since, both of them started at the same time, therefore,
