Explanation:

as we know the midpoint coordinates are

xm = (xa + xb)/2

ym = (ya + yb)/2

m being the midpoint, a and b being the endpoints.

so, we have here

8 = (xa + 3)/2

16 = xa + 3

xa = 13

-2 = (ya + 5)/2

-4 = ya + 5

ya = -9

therefore,

A = (13, -9)

Answer:

A (-2, 12)

Explanation:

plug the midpoint into the midpoint formula setting each equation equal to its respective value.

((x_1+x_2)/(2), (y_1+y_2)/(2))\\x:(8+x_2)/(2)=3\\8+x_2=6\\x_2=-2\\\\y:(-2+y_2)/(2)=5\\-2+y_2=10\\y_2=12\\\\A(-2,12)
