This is because you start by getting rid of the () by multiplying 2 times x+2 to get 2x+4 and the same with the other side -4 times x-1 to get -4x+4. After you get those two products you are going to try and get x by it’s self and at it’s simplest form. Start by adding 4x to both sides to get 6x+4=4, now subtract 4 from both sides to get 6x=0. Now divide 6 from both sides which is easy because 0 divided by 6 is 0. With that we are left with x=0
