Traditional games are one of the most entertaining activities that benefit body and mind in many ways. All of us have heard famous sayings such as ‘A healthy mind lives in a healthy body’, and ‘All study and no play makes Jack a dull boy’. Sports and games are undoubtedly the building blocks of the health and character. Their importance in the over-all and holistic development of children cannot be denied. Let’s see how traditional games promote health.


Physical Health

Most of the traditional games are played outdoors and involve a lot of physical workout. This physical workout such as intensive running, body movement, etc. are considered very beneficial for health.


Pure Air

While playing outdoors, one inhales lots of fresh air enriched with pure oxygen. This inhalation also improves one’s general metabolism and health.


Nature

Since most of the games are outdoors, one is in touch with nature. The sun, the sky, the air, the earth, the tree, birds, etc. influence one’s health agreeably.
So, traditional games promote health. Everyone must play these games. Children should particularly be encouraged to enjoy playing these traditional games.
