FOR #9:

i can see how this can be confusing for people just starting out using the formula y=mx+b.

first, you want to bring the x to the other side to fit the format

it would become

3y = -x - 15

then, you want to divide both sides by 3, to get y alone. whenever dealing with the equation y=mx+b, you want to manipulate the equation so that y is alone (1)

it would become

y= -x/3 -5

that would be the first answer.

FOR #10:

this is a little simpler to solve if you have background with algebra or just using the slope intercept form ( y=mx+b )

first, you want to bring the y to the other side.

it would be

4x - 1 = -y

as i stated before, you need to manipulate the equation so that y is alone

divide both sides by -1

it would become

-4x + 1 = y

then you should just flip the equation so it is easier to read

y = -4x + 1 is the answer.
