Answer is 200 cupcakes

Step by step

76 vanilla cupcakes sold
62% sold were mocha
So 38 % were vanilla

76 vanilla is 38% of how many?

Equation is
76 = .38x
Divide both sides by .38 to solve for x

76/.38 = .38 /.38 x

X = 200 total cupcakes

Check your work

62% were mocha cupcakes
.62 of 200 = 124

Mocha cupcakes = 124
Vanilla cupcakes = 76

124 + 76 = 200 cupcakes

Problem solved!
