Hi, there.

_____

The equation we're working with is called a proportion.

We begin with a skill called cross-multiplying.

\leadsto\sf{(65)/(8)=(a)/(60)}

Multiply 65 by 60:

\leadsto\sf{65*60=3,900}

Multiply a times 8:

\leadsto\sf{a*8=8a}

Put the parts of the equation (the left & right side) together:

\leadsto\sf{8a=3,900}

Divide both sides by 8:

\leadsto\sf{a=487.5} | answer.

Hope the answer - and explanation - made sense,

happy studying!!

Answer:

487.5

Explanation:

Note: You should know how to do this by yourself this is easy and basic

(65)/(8) = (a)/(60)

We cross multiply (First A x 8) which is 8a

Then we cross multiply (65*60) which is 3900

8a = 3900

a= 3900/8

a= 487.5
