Why -11 is less than -7, but |-11| is greater than |-7| ​

Because -11 is farthest away from -7 on the negative side of the number line, that is why it’s less , but |-11| is basically just 11 because of the absolute value bars and |-7| is just 7. With the absolute value bars you can forget about the negative symbol.
