3x-2x=x
-14+6=-8
-8-4=-12
x-8-12=12
x-20=12
(take it to the other side)
x=32

3x-14+6-4-2x=12

We move all terms to the left:

3x-14+6-4-2x-(12)=0

We add all the numbers together, and all the variables

x-24=0

We move all terms containing x to the left, all other terms to the right

x=24
