Federalism being the federal principle or system of government can lead to conflit between states because the federal government is not allowed to interfere with the powers of the states reserved or implied to them by the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Therefore states are allowed to have different laws each individual state deems fit. This often causes debate on the morality of different laws between states as well as conflit of citizens within different states
