It's ok, It's not as nice outside as everyone claims. Winters are chilly, and it pours. Summers are close to ideal, although they are often pleasant all throughout. Nowhere else do I hear as many people complaining about summer. It has a few respectable outdoor choices, such surrounding hills and Tahoe, which is a quick weekend excursion. The Bay Area, however, lacks some specializations that other locations do. Florida offers better beaches and warmer water. Winters in Phoenix are much pleasant. Oregon features more challenging hills and outdoor activities. The conclusion is that it has been overhyped.
That said, it is a wise decision for a young individual who has a successful work and can afford a home. They will become millionaires simply from paying their mortgage for 20 years while living there. Success is therefore almost certain.
