To solve this you need to first distribute the negative six to the values on the inside of the parentheses. Multiply the -6 to -5v, when two negatives multiply by each other they become positive, so by multiplying -6 by -5 you get 30v. You must then multiply the -6 by the 6 in the parentheses, when you multiply a negative by a positive you get a negative. Multiplying the -6 by 6 you end up with -36. So now you are left with 30v - 36 - 10v. To further simplify this you must combine like terms, in which you must subtract 10v from 30v. There you end with 30 - 10 which equals 20.
