given ,

One side is 2x + 5 (length) and the other side is x+3 (breadth/width)

Also perimeter of it is 40cm

We know that , perimeter of rectangle is given by the formula , 2 ( l + b)

Now ,

=> 2 ( 2x+5 + x + 3) = 40cm

=> 2(3x + 8) = 40

=> 6x + 16 = 40

=> 6x = 40-16

=> 6x = 24

=> x = 24/6

=> x = 4

Now ,

One side , length = 2x + 5 = 2(4)+5 = 8+5 = 13 ,

And other side , breadth = x + 3 = 4 + 3 = 7
