Getting The average is simple, we just add and divide by the number of whole numbers.

So now that we know that we can substitute the 5th test with "X".

So now we have the following equation: 87+94+93+88+X/5 = 90

Now we can just multiply each side by 5.

Next Up we have 87+94+93+88+X = 450

We simplify by adding all the numbers:

Lastly We have 362+X = 450

450-362 = 88

So "X" = 88

Sherman needs to score at least a 88 to have an average of 90.
