Subtract 1/4 from 1/4 and the other side now you have
X=-7/12-1/4
You have to make the denominator in 1/4 a 12 so that terns to 4/12 now you have(4 goes into 12 4 times that’s why the numerator is a 4)
X=-7/12-4/12
Subtract the two fractions(-7-4=-3 because you have to add +4 to -7 the 4 doesn’t take it out of the negatives so it’s -3)
Answer is
X=-3/12

Hope this helps!
