Answer:

-1 is not a solution of y² - 1 = 4y + 3

Explanation:

y² - 1 = 4y + 3

It’s clear that the variable in the equation is y .

For y = -1 :

y² - 1 = (-1)² - 1 = 1 - 1 = 0

On the other hand

4y + 3 = 4(-1) + 3 = -4 + 3 = -(4 - 1) = -3

Since -3 ≠ 0 ,then -1 is not a solution to our equation.
