Hello there! A copyright does indeed give
the creator of an original work exclusive rights to that work, usually for an unlimited time.

It is generally illegal for anybody to take, make copies of, distribute, and perform copies of the original artist’s works without specified permission. This is technically an example of a class D felony and can land one in incarceration for up to 7 years. Hope this helps!
