Hello there! -30 is greater than -70.

-30 is greater than -70 because there are sets of positive integers, negative integers, and then the origin which we call 0. To the right side of the origin on a number line, we have all of our positive integers, such as:

• +1

• +2

• +3

and so on. These numbers particularly are represented as numbers without the plus sign.

To the left of the origin on a number line, we have a set of negative integers such as:

• -1
• -2
• -3

and so on.

The further a number goes in the left direction of the origin, the less the value because it is being stirred away from the positive side of the number line. Hence, -30 > (which means greater than) -70. Hope this helps!
