This is very simple let me show you!

All you have to do is plug in the variable. It asks us to find y when x = 2. Therefore we plug it in!

So 2x would be 2(2) and 4x2 would be 4(2)2

Therefore we get y = 5 - 2 * 2 + 4(2) * 2

Multiply -2 by 2

y = 5 - 4 + 4(2) * 2

Then 4 by 2

y = 5 - 4 + 8 * 2

Then 8 by 2

y = 5 - 4 + 16

Then we subtract 5 from 4

y = 1 + 16

Therefore y = 17.
