We have given that,this net can be folded to make a square pyramid.

we have to find the value of the surface area of this pyramid.

The surface area of this pyramid is the sum of all sides of it.

Atfirst the area of the bottom part,as it is a square,

  • Area=side^2
  • So,Area of the bottom. part=5^2=25 square inch.

NOW we have to find the value of the side areas of this pyramid.

As these parts are a triangle

  • Area of triangle=1/2×bh

where

b=base

h=height

so,Area=

  • 1/2×(5)(6)

  • 1/2×(30)

  • 15 square inch.

But in this pyramid, it has 4 triangular sides.

So,Area of all triangular side=4×15=60 square inch.

HENCE,

  • The surface area =60+25=85 square inch
