Michael has total of 10 pies to serve. he served 2 3/4 cherry pies, 1 2/3 peach pies and 3 1/2 apple pies, how many does he have left to serve?

→ Work out how much he served in total


2(3)/(4)+1(2)/(3) +3(1)/(2) =2(9)/(12)+1(8)/(12) +3(6)/(12)=6(23)/(12) =7(11)/(12)

→ Subtract from total


10-7(11)/(12) = 10-(95)/(12) =(120)/(12) -(95)/(12) =(25)/(12) =2(1)/(12)
