18 hours of overtime done by Jane

Explanation:

Regular weekly payment = 40 x $14.85 = $594

She earned $727.65.

The total overtime payment = $727.65 - $594 = $133.65

Overtime payment per hour is $14.85/2 = $7.425

$133.65 : $7.425 = 18hours overtime

But, is it me that understand the question in the wrong way or is the question itself is weird? Why would somebody work overtime if the wage is lower than the regular hour?
