Answer:

Explanation:

(x₁,y₁) = (5 , 0) and (x₂,y₂) = (-3, 2)

Slope=
(y_(2)-y_(1))/(x_(2)-x_(1))

= (2-0)/(-3-5)\\\\=(2)/(-8)\\\\=(-1)/(4)

Equation of the line : y =mx + b

y = (-1)/(4)x + b

Plug in x = 5 and y =0 in the above equation.

0 =(-1)/(4)*5+b\\\\0=(-5)/(4)+b\\\\b = (5)/(4)

Equation of the line:

y =(-1)/(4)x+(5)/(4)
