The first blind person observed the side of the elephant which is broad and sturdy and inferred that the elephant is like a wall

The second blind person felt the tusk and observed it to be "very round and smooth and sharp" and inferred it to be like a spear

The third blind person observed the squirming trunk of the elephant and inferred it to be very much like a snake

The following blind men continue to make these observations and inferences. However they all reach fragmentary conclusions that tell little about the bigger picture
