Hi, there.

_______

\text{Formula: }\bold{(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)}

Now substitute the known parameters.

\bold{\frac{\hfill\stackrel{y_2}{\overbrace{1}}-\hfill\stackrel{y_1}{3}}{\hfill\stackrel{x^2}{2}-\hfill\stackrel{x_1}{(-1)}}}}

\bold{(-2)/(3)}

-\bold{(2)/(3)}

Hope the answer - and explanation - made sense,

happy studying!!!

Answer:

-2/3

Explanation:

Well, you could use the equation y2-y1/x2-x1 y2=1 and y1=3 so 1-3 is -2. Then we know that x2 = 2 and x1 = -1 so we have 2-(-1) which is 3. Now we have -2/3.
