I think you mean

1 l = 1000 cm³

the volume of a box, rectangular block or prism is

length × width × height

length × width = 40,000 cm²

40,000 × height = 4000 liters =

= 4,000,000 cm³

height = 4,000,000 / 40,000 = 100 cm
