Explanation:

All you need to do is add the fractions (2/5 + 3/5 = 5/5 or 1) and then add the whole numbers (1 + 1 = 2) and then when you add those answers (1 + 2) you get 3! I'm sorry if that was a really bad explanation,, this is my first time answering a question lol.
