Terri bought four lipsticks for a total cost of $20. Assuming each lipstick cost the same amount, how much did one lipstick cost? (Let l stand for the cost of one lipstick.)

If Terri bought 4 lipsticks for $20, each at an equal price, we can divide 20 by 4 to get the unit price, or cost of one.

20 / 4 = 5

So, each lipstick costs $5.

Because l stands for the cost of one lipstick, we can write it as l = $5.

I hope this helped you. Have a good day/night, and continue to work hard.
