let \: x \: be \: her \: age \: now \\ let \: y \: be \: her \: fathers \: age \: now


6x = y \\3( x + 6) = y + 6


6x - y = 0 \\ 3x - y = - 12


6x - y = 0 \\ - 6x + 2y = 24


y = 24

Her father's age is 24 years old
