$let \: x \: be \: her \: age \: now \\ let \: y \: be \: her \: fathers \: age \: now$

$6x = y \\3( x + 6) = y + 6$

$6x - y = 0 \\ 3x - y = - 12$

$6x - y = 0 \\ - 6x + 2y = 24$

y = 24
