the best choice here is B, foreboding.

foreboding means: fearful apprehension; a feeling that something bad will happen.

there's a couple of examples that the author highlights this tone in the passage.

"completely unaware that your day will be nothing close to normal"

"fail to notice what is suddenly missing"
