When one card is drawn from a well shuffled deck of 52 cards what is the probability that it will be a queen king or ace

There are 4 Queens, 4 Kings, and 4 Aces in a standard deck of cards.

Add these together, and there are 12 cards that you have a chance of choosing from.

The ratio of cards we want to get (queen, king ace) to number of cards is 12/52. This is the probability. We can simplify it further by dividing both sides by 4. We now have the fraction 3/13.

Therefore, the probability of drawing a queen, king, or ace is 3 in 13, or 23%.
