Inequalities
It is the existing inequality between two algebraic expressions, connected through the signs: greater than >, less than <, less than or equal to ≤, as well as greater than or equal to ≥, in which there are one or more unknown values called unknowns, in addition to certain known data.
−6x −16 ≥ 2x
Subtract 2x from both sides.
−6x − 16 − 2x ≥ 2x − 2x
−8x − 16 ≥ 0
Add 16 to both sides.
−8x − 16 + 16 ≥ 0 + 16
−8x≥16
Divide both sides by -8.
-8x / -8 ≥ 16 / 8
x ≤ − 2
